Arduino Ethernet Shield W5100 is an ethernet shield designed to provide communication over ethernet of your Arduino board. All the libraries and codes prepared for Arduino ethernet shield can also be used in this shield.

Arduino Ethernet Shield allows you to connect to the Internet via ethernet or communicate with a device that has another ethernet card. Using the Wiznet W5100 integration, this shield can use TCP and UDP. It is used by connecting the ethernet cable to the standard RJ45 ethernet socket located on the shield. With the Arduino ethernet library, you can connect Arduino to the Internet. 

Thanks to the SD card slot on the Ethernet shield, data can be written and read using Arduino SD libraries on the SD card.

• LINK: Indicates the presence of a network connection, and the Shield flashes when transmitting or receiving data
• FDX: indicates that the network connection is full duplex
• 100M: Indicates the presence of a 100 Mb/s network connection (as opposed to 10 Mb/s)
• ACT: Flashes when RX or TX activity is present
