MAN EDC7 Engine Control Unit Programming - Autovei Solutions

The License MAN EDC7 feature by Autovei enables reading and writing FLASH and EEPROM of the MAN truck engine control unit EDC7C32. With Autovei you get flexible, safe operation modes.

Autovei Operation Modes (EDC7):

• OBD mode — Flash read/write only. Auto checksum.
• DC GPT mode — Full Flash and EEPROM read/write. Auto checksum. Bench mode without opening ECU.
• BDM mode — ECU must be opened and adapter soldered. Read/write Bootloader, Flash and EEPROM. For recovery (no checksum).

In OBD mode:

• Read/Write Flash only.
• Automatic checksum.

In DC GPT mode:

• Read/Write full Flash and EEPROM.
• Automatic checksum.
• Works on bench without opening the ECU.

In BDM mode:

• ECU must be opened and adapter soldered.
• Read/Write Bootloader, Flash and EEPROM.
• Used for recovery — no checksum applied.

Autovei Hardware Requirements:

• VEI V6 or VEI V7 device
• Direct Connect 2U tool with OBD2 power cable
• DC2-EDC7C32 GPT cable
• DC2U-ISP-JTAG+BDM dongle
• DC2U-BDM7 adapter or DC2U-BDM10 adapter
